Walk and work together as a light of Christ to shine in the world beyond the four walls of our church building. We have been extensively involved within the life of the community of South St. Paul and we also support special funds of the national United Church of Christ to provide resources for our neighbors here and overseas.
We were one of the first churches to offer financial support to Restorative Justice, a South St. Paul organization dedicated to teaching non-violence in our community. As of March 2012, they have office space in our church building and we continue to offer financial support to Restorative Justice through PeaceMaker Minnesota, who will often match our funds.
We were one of the founding churches to initiate this local mission-based organization, which provides various programs; a food shelf, discount clothing store, shuttle service, and networking for people in the community who have been disadvantaged through un/underemployed, chronic illness, handicaps or caught in the cycle of poverty.
We began giving scholarship monies to South St. Paul High School graduating seniors in 2014. In May 2014, we awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship. In May 2015, we awarded a $2,000.00 scholarship to a local student.
